A Christmas Miracle

My online friend Liz and her husband Mike welcomed their son Mark Garrett this morning. He is their much longed-for and long-awaited son. Please pray for the birth parents as they give this gift to start a wonderful couple's family. Also, please pray that all of the adoption paperwork goes through smoothly and quickly so that this beautiful family can be home together as soon as possible!

I'll be praying for them.
What a gift. There isn't a single gift better in the whole wide world!

Adoption is a beautiful thing.

I'm definitely open to it for us if we can't make one of our own. A ready-made baby would suit me fine as well. I would prefer domestic, I think, but international would work, too. Heck, we have some friends who adopted from Russia and that little girl looks way more like Ryan's child than one of ours probably would since I'm a pile of dominant genes and his Polish-American self is a pile of recessive ones. :)

Seriously, though, I think that giving a child up for adoption is a truly selfless gift. To the child and to the adoptive parents. And in this case, the adoptive parents are already so good at it. They suffered through many years of infertility and then waiting for a birth mother to choose them. They were so patient and happy for their friends as they were all chosen first. I just know that Mark has to have been chosen as just the right baby for them.

It's such wonderful news. What a great Christmas for them and for us too, as all of us took this journey with them in some way. I can't wait to meet Mr. Mark:)
